Rani Sahib Madhavi Mandloi Zamindar
Textile Artist, Director at Gajra Devi Krishi Farms Born in New Delhi, Rani Sahib is a textile artist and organic farmer. She is the granddaughter of Late Pt. Molichandra Sharma, was the Second All-India president of Bhartiya Jan Sangh which later formed the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). She is the daughter of the late Pt. Vachaspati Sharma and Smt Vimla Sharma. A graduate of Modern School, Barakhamba, Delhi University, and a textile design graduate from Women’s Polytechnic in Delhi, Rani Sahab dedicated her time to the pursuit of art, holding exhibitions and shows in galleries, which she continues to do so.
After her marriage, she took a keen interest in the family’s ancestral farms in and around Indore, which she converted into functional organic farms certified by a premier global auditing agency. Rani Sahab is the founding member of Shri Sansthan organisational community, where she offers guidance to the committee responsible for organising and executing public celebrations and events that include the annual Indore Foundation Day celebration held on the third march, and the Balidan Diwas function held in November. Rani Sahab has also authored the book Mandlois of Malwa, which documents original letters, maps and life accounts of the family’s forefathers, that delve deeper into the original historyof Indore. These original records were painstakingly collected over the years from the family archives by Rani Sahab.
An artist by profession, she has displayed her canvases for various exhibitions and in art galleries and actively also participates in shows such as Royal Fables to share her hand- painted saris and her craft alongside erstwhile royal families from across India. Her works on fabric are coveted by discerning art lovers from around the country and beyond. Her paintings have also found a place in the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai, and are part of the collection of the Former Indian Consul to US; Ms Sushma Thomas.
Yuvraj Varadraj Mandloi Zamindar Varadraj is a businessman as well as a social worker. He is also the City Minister of the country’s largest farmer’s association, Bhartiya Kisan Sangh, along with which he currently works alongside the Mayor of Indore, Shri Pushyamitra Bhargav who appointed him the head of Internships with the Mayor program in 2022.
Varadraj received his education from one of India’s most prestigious schools, The Daly College Indore. After starting as an independent journalist working for brands and getting published in several Indian and international magazines, Shriya now serves as fashion features editor of Vogue India for the past three years. Under her title, she has profiled personalities like Naomi Campbell and Priyanka Chopra, amongst designers, artists and other creatives from the fashion industry.
